The Attic is a Sci Fi Horror Short Film I made to teach myself some new Visual Effects techniques! once again starring my brother, Jarid Kennedy. The Attic was filmed with a Canon 5D MK III with the Magic Lantern hack. The entire shoot took place in one night, except for a few VFX insert shots that were acquired afterwards.

The whole reason behind making “The Attic” was to give myself a project that required a digital character to be composited into live action footage. At the time I had never done this, so I began researching different ways of accomplishing the Alien VFX, and how I was going to tackle the animation side of things. I discovered IpiSoft Motion Capture Studio which allowed you to capture an actors performance with an Xbox 360 Kinect.
